The Industrial visits to SIFL and Milma Dairy Processing Units was very much an enriching experience to the Students of our Institute. While SIFL is a manufacturing unit which is catering to forging of Titanium,steel and super alloys, Milma is a milk processing unit focussing on processing of milk and related dairy products. Both these units are well established brands and a name to reckon with in the state of Kerala giving top focus and priority to quality management.
SIFL which is a Kerala Government Undertaking, established in 1983, is providing products with wide range of weights and unmatched quality which have made the company the most sought after forging company in the country for critical components. Its diverse product mix caters to a wide range of sectors. These include complex and high precision Aerospace forgings, Specialised Forgings for Defence, Heavy Forgings for Commercial vehicles, Railways and other components for automobiles etc.
Milma on the other hand has a diversified product portfolio and has branches in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kottayam and idukki Districts covering an area of about 12734 square kilometres. The mission of Milma being “farmers' prosperity through consumer satisfaction”. It is a part of Ernakulam Regional Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. (Ernakulam Milk Union) is affiliated to Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd
Reshma M.Rajan of IMT-Thrissur (WHET) has been awarded C M.George Memorial Award for being 1st in MBA 2016, in Thrissur District.
